Glynis, Charlie, and Bella, yes, it was probably difficult for Velvet and Onyx to distinguish your fingers from their food when they had cataracts and diabetes. Very sweet of you to try not to say "ouch" too loudly, so they wouldn't be startled.

Charlie is obviously thinking of being an honorary guinea pig when he nibbles your thumb.
