[Gpdd] [HEALTH] eye allergies

greeting savy cavvies!
it's rachelle and konoha again with another problem! Two days ago i noticed that one of Konoha's eyes was constantly squinting, and yesterday I noticed that a white pus discharge would be coming out of his eye. The other eye is fine, but the one with the white stuff looks a tad bit swollen and he's constantly squinting. I went to the Pet Centre where i bought him and brought up the issue with the head "guinea pig" person there. She said that he's having an allergic reaction to the pine shavings that I use as bedding in his cage and she's seen it happen in alot of piggies. She then told me to buy Polysporin eye drops, which I did, and to use it 2-3 times a day. She also said to buy corncob bedding because it is dust free and he wont be allergic to them. I took her advice and have thrown out the Pine bedding to corncob. I was just wondering what you experts think of this solution. The corncob worries me a bit due to the fact that it might be a tad bit harsh on his feet and cause some feet irritations? Thats just my theory. But I would really appreciate feedback and other suggestions on this matter.
