You may or may not remember I am a nurse, which is why Lenny had such a good
CV for the position of head nurse poo trail, any way to add to the
'mouse-tails' going around at the moment I have to tell you of my story.
So there I am on night duty on the ward (children's) and we have already
been warned about our uninvited 'visitor' ( it is a country hospital) so my
colleague and I were putting the world to rights at 2 am, all children
asleep, when our little visitor joins us in the office. Well we watched him,
he watched us then we chased him down the corridor to the play room and shut
him in. We had a humane trap, and we fixed it up nicely with chocolate- they
love chocolate-
remind me to tell you the story of the christmas that our chocolate
disappeared from the sitting room mysteriously, and with 2 young girls in
the house who was chief suspect? an old colander on her head 'wired up' to
mummy's special truth detector and still they wouldn't confess until we
found the silver paper behind the bureau chewed up by tiny teeth!!!!!
any way back to the ward- humane trap was left until 6ish and then bingo he
was there. we found an old empty unused milton (sterilising) tank, gave him
half an apple, my colleague tore up tissue for his bedding and he was a
happy mouse, lapping at the apple soooooooo cute I can't tell you. We named
him 'milton', of course and he came home with me, and was set free in the
woods by us.
The other staff thought we were mad. I told one of the children's mothers -
she took it well and when her boy left hospital they gave me a metal
mouse-shaped door stop in honour of 'milton' I still have it.

wish us luck on Sunday we are taking the boys to another gp show- baths all
round- so popular, claws cut and grease spots massaged with 'pore cleanser'
- should be paw cleanser!
