Hey Everyone to add to the banning of selling pets here is an article that 
was on our local news website today. THought you would all like to see it 
since everyone was asking about this again with the Petco and Petsmart 
things going around with the selling of animals not being sold at the 
moment.

State bans sale of pet rodents shipped from Ohio facility

LANSING (AP) - Michigan has banned the sale and shipment of pet mice, 
hamsters and guinea pigs from an Ohio distributor. They could be infected 
with a disease harmful to unborn children and people with weakened immune 
systems.

The state Department of Community Health issued the public health order. The 
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says rodents infected with 
the disease were shipped from an Ohio pet distribution center.

Infection is rare in humans and health officials think the general risk to 
Michigan residents is low. They warn that pregnant women and people with 
weakened immune system are at risk.

The virus is blamed in the deaths of three New England organ recipients. 
Health officials believe the organ donor caught the virus from her pet 
hamster.
