In response to Michelle's question regarding heating pads. I lived in a big drafty house in New England last winter with my piggie Guinness. I considered heating pads but worried about the boy chewing the cord. Instead I bought a microwaveable heating unit (about the shape and size of a small frisbee but thicker) from Petco, nuked it for 5-7 minutes before going to bed, wrapped it in a dish towel, and put it in his "tent," plastic house or snuggle cup. If I went in an hour later I would find him asleep next to, sometimes on top of, the towel. I would also use this method, but with ice packs, in the summer for cooling purposes. Guinness LOVED that.

When it got really cold and we were trying to save on heating bills, I would plug in an heater (one of those electric oil-filled radiators) for three or four hours at a time. Between the heater and the heating disc, I think Guinness stayed pretty comfortable.

Good Luck! - Priscilla
