Thanks Maren. I will have a go and let you know what happens! I did once put
them on my bed and I fell asleep. When I woke up they were both staring at
me a few feet from my face. I bet they were wondering what I was up to! Abby
is always the most curious of the two. When I put them in the garden and I
get up to get a drink she is always sitting at the side of her run waiting
for me to come back. When I do she runs off and plays!

I have 2 abyssinian girl guineas called Abby and Helga. Problem is I don't
know what to do with them in the winter. They are always really happy in the
summer as they can go outside in their run and they popcorn everywhere. In
the winter I tend to bring them inside to give them some cuddles on the
sofa. They don't really get excited by this and don't really look that
happy. If I put them on the floor to run around they tend to huddle in the
corner. Anyone got any suggestions to what I could do with them on a cold
winters day?

Jennifer,

I wouldn't worry too much. When we got Rosie it took her months to make
happy piggy noises loud enough for us to hear well. To this day I've only
heard her wheek once (actually about 2 weeks ago) and it wasn't a pleasant
thing.

The noises all come down to the personality of the pig, I think. I'm
willing to bet that a year from now you'll be asking him to keep it down.
I've noticed it can take up to a year for a pig to come out of their shell
entirely and be perfectly comfortable with their new home.

If Samsen is eating and seems to be content (I would take the begging for
treats as a good sign) I wouldn't worry. Just cuddle him lots and let him
know that you aren't going to eat him and he will turn into the bundle of
personality I know all pigs can be.

I hope this helped.
Piggy Kisses,
Maren, Rosie, and Charlie

Donna,

I've noticed that my pigs get curious when I sit in floor time with them.
They come up to me and give me this look like "What are you doing?" But
then they circle me and if I reach out to them they run off. Then they come
back. It's a game to them I guess. My husband likes to rearrange their
toys and they always have to investigate what he's doing.

I think if you find a way to interact with them in floor time they may run
around a lot more. After awhile they may get the idea and run around on
their own. My pigs ALWAYS have to know what I'm doing.

Just a thought.

Piggy kisses,
Maren, Rosie and Charlie
