Dear Ruth,

I just loved your story about Penelope and how she would take walks with you
around the neighborhood. You are so right---our pets have so much innate
intelligence that almost no one gives them credit for.

Years of living and working with guinea pigs (especially the ones who
starred in my movies) have taught me never to underestimate their intelligence---or
the depths of their feeling.

Of course, there are always piggies who seem to be a little bit brighter
than others. (You'll find that true in EVERY species of mammals!) But all of
them have different strengths and weaknesses, just like humans.

If you've ever watched CARROT WARS, you'll know what I mean. Guinea pigs
really do not take direction very well. But they love doing what THEY want. :)

Love and WHEEEEEEEEEEEEPS,

Alyssa and the guinea pig "movie stars"
