There is great sadness here at Piggyfriends today. Dear little Sylvie left us last night at 11.30 pm. She had not been ill, but at 7 years old, had reached the end of a very long and happy life.

Some of you will remember that she lost her mother, Ash, in January and Sylvie was lost without her. They had been together since Sylvie's birth and I did not expect her to reach her 7th. birthday but she carried on and helped me light the candle for Peter, whose birthday she shared, on March 9th. I have lots of photos of her with the candle to remember her by, although all of the Piggyfriends past live in my heart forever.

She was the last of the "Little Visitors", who used to come and stay with me when their slave, my friend Tricia, went on vacation. When Tricia moved abroad, they came to live here permanently.

Both she and Ash were very gentle piggies, who loved a cuddle and they are both sadly missed.

Yesterday morning Sylvie didn't finish her morning carrot slice and just wanted to sleep all day. I coaxed her into eating a few favourite nibbles but her heart was not in it and I knew that she was about to leave us. She left very peacefully, asleep in her blanket one minute then gone the next, in exactly the same way as her mother.

So now, she is reunited with Ash and the other Little Visitors, Leo and Snickers. Sleep well, little ones.

I would also like to send condolences to Raina and Fiona on the loss of Sydney piggy. I know how you are feeling.

Birdie, will you please alter the Roll Call. There are now only 24 Piggyfriends.

Penny and the very sad Piggyfriends.
