Our new little Piggyfriend came home tonight! Kevin finishes work before I do and I left a pen set up for the little fellow so when I got in, there he was, wheeking for food and waiting to be picked up and loved.

He is a dear little chap, allegedly a year and a half old. He is very nearly black, perhaps charcoal would be the right description with a narrow white stripe down one side and a little brown patch hidden underneath. After his haircut at the shelter, he has the typical mad scientist look about him. He sits and waits to be petted and picked up and enjoyed a run around the dining room where he could explore the bags of piggy veg that I had brought in with me and visit some of the Piggyfriends who live in here.

Although he has been at the shelter for nearly two weeks, he really should remain quarantined for a little while longer. He seems in good health and packs away the food as fast as he can. He is such a sweetie that I want to keep picking him up. I wish that we had a site where we could post pigtures so that you could all see him.

He had been called Snuffles at his previous home. That sounds like he has a cold. At the shelter they named him Scruff but he hasn't told me his real name yet. I had been thinking of suitable names that fit his arrival at the shelter in the snowstorm and if he had been a white piggy he would probably be given a name like Frost but now that he is here it doesn't seem to suit his colour. For now he is my sweetie pig and I can see him watching me in anticipation of more veggies. So I had better show him how a good slave behaves.

Birdie. When he tells me his name, you can add him to the Piggyfriend Boars on the list.

Penny and the Piggyfriends, delighted to have a new member to play with.
