On Monday night, Michael feared that Baby Truffles might have her neurological signs again so I suggested strongly to take Baby Truffles in the next day, even if she's okay, at least get her looked at. I said the holidays are coming up so ask for baytril to 'keep on hand' in case we may need it, we won't use it, just have it on hand in case we need it. Well, the vet said she didn't see her eyes 'tracking' and even though Baby Truffles hadn't pooped in about two days, she said her digestive system sounded okay, so give it time (she pooped last night :) smallish but at least they look somewhat normal). She refused to give us baytril saying she doesn't need it. That sort of upset me, because I was thinking, we may not need it this moment, but what if??? They gave Baby Truffles a sub-q and she seemed to perk up a little after that. She seemed more alert. She even began to nibble on some fresh greens. Only a little, but anything is better than
 nothing!

What REALLY upset me, I was so infuriatingly mad is that when we were dropping off Blossom on Saturday, I was holding Blossom and crying but Michael was asking the vet what she thought could have happened, well, lucky for her I was deep in sorrow at the time, because I thought later of what she said and I was in a pretty big rage. She was explaining how in the wild, gp's don't live that long, and we as humans give them medications and drugs to try to make them live longer but it's not good because they develop all these diseases and problems all because their bodies aren't made to live that long and here we are trying to make them live longer. I was thinking, isn't that YOUR profession??? It sort of made me think she was kind of 'blaming' us for wanting her to live longer or something!

Well, anyway, at about their closing time yesterday, the vet's office called us to say that we could pick up the baytril. Apparently, the new vet, the one we have, asked the more experienced vet (no, we didn't get to 'pick' vets) about the baytril and he okayed it. So we'll be picking it up today.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my ranting. And a huge thank you to all who emailed me, willing to be a comforting shoulder in my time of great need! I appreciate you all more than you'll ever know!

Corrine
