It is with limitless sorrow I tell you that Manny the Boar has gone on to bridge to await our later arrival. He came down with pneumonia last Sunday night, I medicated him with what I had and took him to the vet Monday morning. She treated him for 2 days and nights but he died in her arms Tues. night. When he called me to him Sun night to his side I thought he was a goner right then, I gave him a heavy dose of pain meds and antibiotics, and it revived him so much he ate lettuce and hay through the night, although I had to feed almost every bite, but he wasn't pooing or peeing. The vet added another antibiotic and Reglan, along with Critical Care and sub -cutaneous  fluids, when I left he was in a temp controlled cage eating, and ran away when I leaned in to say goodbye. She said then he had a 50-50 chance. When she said he would have to stay another day and night I knew then he had little or no chance, piggies cant be that ill that long and survive well. And the antibiotics, 2 of them should have dug in with the first 24 hours. love  Sandy and the remaining Li'l Pig.
