Andrew Head tilt and Nystigmus or eye movement disorders are neurological
problems and they are serious. There are to main causes one is an ear
infection, the second is e.c. Is there any possible way to get him to a vet
today, call your vet and see what they have to offer in terms of special
appointments or if he can refer you to an emergency clinic With a gp or
rabbit specialist.

Look in his ear is there any unusual gunk or is it painful either in it or
around it.? Take his temp, a high temp would point to ear infection, gp
temps run higher than people but check guinealynx.info to be sure. Look
him all over, is he in pain elsewhere, how about his pee and poops, are his
back legs weak.

If you have any antibiotics left over from a previous treatment and they
aren't too old you might try that, do you have any Metacam for pain or
Reglan for nausea. Do you have any Panacur or Ivermectin. Definitively dive
him 50 to 100mg of Vit C , best to split it up and give some every few hours
Do not give Panacur and ivermectin both, if you have both just give the
Panacur

Its still much preferable to get him to a vet, treat for ear infection and
e.c. both Take copies of the drug pages of guinealynx with you. Did you
keep the stuff I wrote on e.c.? Its much more likely to be just inner/
middle ear infection but its dangerous to not treat for e.c. too/

Remind the vet that pig cant have penicillin or the others drugs listed in
guineaynx.info This is an emergency. Yop down x-rays can help verify ear
infection, if you decide on a titre test for e.c. plan on 2 to 4 weeks
apart to look for changes, but dont wait to treat.

He needs supportive treatments too. He needs to eat and drink. Use rolled up
towels to support him from falling over. He is likely to be anxious and
nervous and nauseous. Calm him, carry him around with you or keep him
propped upright

Again The drugs need are Baytril, Panacur, Metacam, Reglan, and Vit C If
you have Ivermectin at home use it and Vit C but get to the vet tomorrow
but try to get there today. If you need the e.c. info again write me OH
and write me back and tell me if he has had any exposure to bunnies, or out
of doors where raccoons might go and if he has had any recent health probs,
incl. water deprivation, and give me his age. Has he ever had Ivermectin in
his life

write back online Sandy
