Ellen, piggies, and bun, please accept our very belated condolences on Cheyenie's passing.  We are so very sorry that she went to the Bridge, especially so soon after Rufie.  How sad that she apparently had congenital defects and developed pneumonia.  Please know that you did your best for her in her final time with you.  Some piggies want us to hold them as they go, and some don't.  When she indicated she wanted to return to her cage, you did just the right thing in letting her do so and in telling her that it was all right to make her final journey.  You did help her, even if you didn't realize it at that moment.  Yes, it does sound like she missed Rufie and wanted to rejoin him, and how touching that a male and female cardinal, reminding you of Rufie and Cheyenie, perched on your railing shortly thereafter.  Your prayer, about learning how to do what is in the best interest of our animals when they are about to go, was beautiful.  Thank you for sharing it with us, and please know that Cheyenie was so lucky to receive your excellent care and to be such a beloved member of your family.
