Further to the Cymalon, potassium, sodium etc. debate.

My Rodentologists recommend using a quarter of one sachet diluted in an
eggcup of water and this is what I used for Gingerbread. I will use it again
if the need arises.

It would only be used for a short time and the sodium citrate content is not
the same as sprinkling salt ( sodium chloride ) over our piggies' dinners.

Sick piggies here often get a course of Metatone, an excellent tonic for
piggies and humans alike. In Peter's book "Piggy Potions" he wrote that it
is "the best all-round supplement for gps. With its combination of calcium,
potassium and manganese, it suits the herbivorous digestive system to a T. "

Poorly piggies who are having to be syringe fed because they not eating
well, if at all, often perk up after a course of this. I think it tastes
disgusting but piggies seem to lap it up. It is not meant as a permanent
daily supplement in the way that we might take a multivitamin pill but,
given daily for a couple of weeks, it has been a lifesaver for many piggies.
My Rodentologists use it for their patients in their hospital when
necessary.

This may be one of those UK only products. For anyone wanting to try it
here, the dose is 0.5ml daily for a week followed by 0.3ml for another week
or until piggy is eating normally again. It is an over the counter product
at the chemists.

As for magnesium, as it is found in many foods including green leafy veg, I
think that our piggies get enough of it that way. Co-incidentally, banana is
high in magnesium too.

I wish that I liked bananas - they are very good for us! My Garnet and his
harem of sows wolf them down, skins and all. Some are not so keen.
