Hi Most rabbits wont allow them selves to be picked up, its just a fact of
life and a huge disappointment to many who buy them as pets for their kids.
But in fact bunny spines are very fragile, so your best bet is not to try
again. You will need to develop a strategy to get her into a carrier for vet
visits, maybe choose one she can get to from her cage, and put her fav treat
into the carrier as an inducement, or leave it out allot when she has floor
time. Buns do need a couple hours of run time daily then they have to be
herded back home or a treat used. But watching a bunny outside her cage is
amazing, after you completely bunny proof her running space. That often
means covering all wires, no houseplants, and making sure she has a litter
box just like the one she uses in her cage so your carpets wont get ruined.
People use their hallways allot as the buns run so fast back and forth doing
their binkies, they actually run up the side of a wall a few inches and
shove off again. BTW carpet chewing is extremely common. Buns are always
challenging but rewarding because of their intelligence and deep attachment
to you. Check out etherbun. Sandy and Sammy
