March 9th is almost here, and weee want you to be a part of it! THis
is the Annual Peter Gurney Memorial, when every year on March 9th,
weee light a candle to remember Peter Gurney and all of our beloved
pets and pet people who are at the Rainbow Bridge with Peter Gurney.
Peter Gurney passed away in 2006, but weee remember him on March 9th,
his birthday, for his compassion and the knowledge he left us on
guinea pigs. To be a part of this special tradition, all you need to
do is light a candle (real, virtual, or electric) at 8:00 pm in your
particular time zone, and leave your light on for about an hour, until
the next time zone is at 8:00 pm. THis way the light goes around the
world, passing through each time zone, for all at the Rainbow Bridge
to see and know that we are thinking of them on this special day.

You do not have to have a guinea pig to be a part of this, and you
don't have to be a member of the Digest to participate. It is open to
all. Weee just ask that you send a post to the Digest telling us where
your light was lit. Weee will ask our helpers to keep a listing of
where lights were lit, and post the places on the Digest for everyone
to see and visualize our collective light going around the world.
Just tell us your city or town, state or province, and country.

Weee think this is the best way to remember the pets and hoomans who
were a special part of our lives. THis is our 18th memorial that has
been part of the GPDD family since 2006. So be sure to mark your
calendar and tell others to be a part of this very special day, too
and (let us know their location) for the listing. Photos are welcome
too, but send the photos to: gpdd at gpdd.org subject: Peter Gurney
Memorial Photo (as the Digest can't "see" photos). Weee look forward
to your participation!

and Audrey
